Marquina's foray into design started with a degree in industrial design from the Escuela Massana of Barcelona. After the success of her initial textile designs, she launched "nanimarquina" in 1987—a brand dedicated to designing, creating, and distributing rugs and textile products for homes. Her approach is rooted in values like observation, innovation, and enthusiasm, aiming to blend traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.
In 1993, Nani Marquina took a bold step by moving her manufacturing facilities to northern India. This decision incorporated craftsmanship and tradition as new design concepts, setting her brand apart. Over the years, her brand has earned numerous awards, including the National Design Award and the Chamber Award for Design Management in 2005.
