This is the Tartan Blue outdoor rug from Garden Layers, a collection made up of mattresses, rolls, cushions, beds and side tables made with special materials and fabrics for outdoor use. It is manufactured on mechanical looms with polypropylene fibers that are very soft to the touch. Its Tartan-style pattern mixes blue and red threads and can be used in combination with any of the products that make up the Garden Layers collection, regardless of their design, generating an attractive layer effect -hence, the name. However, this model fits especially well with the small Checks mattress, the large Diagonal rolls in light shades, the large diagonal cushions in darker fabrics, the double Indian beds and the small auxiliary side tables.

Patricia Urquiola, designer of the Garden Layers collection Patricia Urquiola is an architect and designer of Spanish origin who settled in Italy after graduating from the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1989. After working with Italian masters of design such as Achille Castiglioni and Vico Magistretti, she founded her own studio in 2001. Since then, she has tackled very diverse projects, from furniture and lighting to ephemeral installations or the integral design of hotels. Her sensitivity to traditional handmade objects and international cooperation in the field of handmade productions led to the start of a fruitful collaboration in 2004 with GAN, which continues to this day.
