Diamond Indoor/Outdoor Blue-Green

The Diamond collection is made with recycled PET fibers, so the rugs can be used both indoors and outdoors. Although these fibers come from plastic, they are very soft to the touch and are so light that they can be manipulated in manual looms that are used to manufacture kilim rugs. This sustainable manufacturing process gives new life to plastic waste, turning it into innovative designs, as spectacular as those in the Diamond series. Diamond, a rug from our kilim collection The kilim is an artisan method of rug making in which the weft is tightly woven on a manual loom, using only threads and no knotting. The result is a light fabric with no pile, similar to that of upholstery. It is a technique that offers great flexibility, a feature that GAN explores thoroughly to create high-impact details. Charlotte Lancelot, designer of the Diamond kilims Charlotte Lancelot was born and raised in Brussels, where she studied industrial design at the Higher National School of Visual Arts of Cambre. After graduating in 2003, she worked at the office of architect and designer Alain Berteau for two years, before founding her own studio. The work of Charlotte Lancelot is characterized by a deep contemporary revision of traditional techniques and references to the past with new textures and color palettes. Her personal style can be appreciated in all of her creations, including Canevas, launched in 2012, Silai (2015) and Canevas Geo (2018).
