The Knotwork rug is an amazing design whose surface presents a rich and complex compendium of knots of totally different styles. Made with thin strips of light brown felt, it alternates up to four types of interlacing, which follow one another and repeat in the manner of friezes. Like a knitted sweater, the rug acquires a voluminous texture that also resembles macrame.

Knotwork, a model from our collection of felt rugs Felt is obtained by combing wool, applying steam and pressing it. It is a compact material that does not come from a weaving process and that, according to our own experience, offers inexhaustible design possibilities because it can be cut and dyed, sewn or embroidered, braided and molded. Therefore, at GAN, we consider felt an indispensable material in the field of contemporary design. Knotwork is a proposal from the GAN design team At GAN, we develop our collections with external designers with whom we identify and share our philosophy: sensitivity for artisanal craft, experimental attitude and a personal style in contemporary proposals. In addition, our team also produces its own designs. Sometimes, they are the result of a custom design project, but other times they arise during the research phase for other manufacturing processes. The creative direction in both cases is led by our director, Mapi Millet, who has extensive experience as a textile designer.
